Pinewood Prep’s Fitness Facility at The Osbourne Athletic Center
Pinewood Preparatory is a devoted educational institution with a focus on programming that keeps their students well rounded, passionate, and thriving. To quote their Head of School, Dr. Daniel Seiden, “It’s cool to be smart, to work hard, and to try new things - and this is a culture we certainly love to foster at Pinewood.”
In addition to academics and arts, you’ll find the Pinewood Panthers are also big on school spirit and athletics. Their sports teams are champions several times over. In the last two decades, more than 100 Pinewood graduates have signed national letters of intent to play scholarship athletics. Some of their alumni have even gone pro!
Fitness facility Inspiration
The gears started turning when project leaders from Pinewood Prep visited the fitness center Advantage designed for Lenoir Rhyne University, sparking interest in creating a similar space for the Panthers. They promptly reached out to their local Advantage rep, Pete Rogers to get started.

During the planning phase, Pinewood’s vision incorporated plenty of strength and conditioning equipment with cardio pieces and functional tools mixed in. This way, athletes, students and faculty of all training levels and abilities feel welcomed and excited to use the space. Equipment at the facility includes Power Lift Pro Series Combo Racks, cardio pieces by Precor and functional accessories from Escape Fitness.

The layout and bold branding of the room are amplified by elements like lots of natural light and 360-degree views of local Summerville scenery. Speaking of scenery…if you walk out the back door of the fitness facility at Pinewood Prep, you’ll find yourself directly on their mixed-use athletic field. How neat!
Custom branded details like the bar end caps, bumper plates and inlaid platforms perfectly fuse together Pinewood Prep’s school colors and give the space the ultimate feeling of Panther pride. Coach Myers states that everyone who walks into the facility is amazed by it’s quality. It’s making a significant impact!

A successful partnership
This project was an incredible display of teamwork on both sides. Throughout the entire journey, our team and theirs demonstrated outstanding efficiency and seamless coordination during delivery and installation. Once again, Pete integrated his design knowledge and his experience as an athlete into the process. Our design team helped bring the vision to life with stunning 3D images, giving the Pinewood team a good understanding of how their space would look, customizations and all. It was a true testament to the power of partnership, resulting in the successful completion of the project. We are humbled to partner with educational institutions to help them improve programming and the lives of their students. Pinewood is no exception.
