Hunter’s Point South is a fresh, energetic, Long Island City neighborhood, that has attracted a wide variety of residents. Surrounded by beautiful public parks, stunning city views, and easy access to transportation, rests 5203 Center Blvd by TF Cornerstone, an 800-unit luxury rental building on the waterfront of Hunter’s Point South. Amenities include wraparound terraces, sundecks, lounge & club rooms, a children’s playroom, professional workspace and of course, a gorgeous fitness facility that Advantage was honored to help design.

At the start of the project, TF Cornerstone wasted no time in seeking out Larry Zinger and the Advantage team. They recall that Zinger showed tremendous passion for the project and anticipated their needs knowledgably. He provided helpful feedback and professional insight on which elements would be the best fit. Larry’s understanding of equipment and user needs helped TF Cornerstone plan an attractive, yet practical gym, while creatively leveraging the space they had to work with.

The project vision was to provide more than simply a room full of exercise equipment. TF Cornerstone set their sights on giving tenants a space where they could escape from the stress of everyday life by offering a broad range of exercise options. The finished product is impressive. It boasts expansive NYC views, with cardio equipment facing every window.  You can’t help but to feel relaxed, even during the most intense workouts.

One of the best parts of the process is always the reaction to the gym by exercisers. And since it’s big reveal this year, the gym at 5203 Center Blvd has been received very well by its residents. The variety of equipment offers a well-balanced space that we have heard is getting used with great enthusiasm. Residents are particularly satisfied with the versatility of the functional training section, which offers something for everyone, whether you’re a professional athlete or it’s your first time walking into the gym.

The 5203 Center Blvd fitness center is an example of a project that had its own distinctive challenges and needs. From the beginning and throughout planning and design, there was someone on the Advantage team to work through those challenges and support those needs through understanding and expertise, giving the client confidence in the plan and ultimately the final product.  That’s exactly what we always strive for.
