Competition is something we love to incorporate within our sales team. Whether it’s an internal drive to beat an individual goal, or a more group oriented contest, our team members tend to put the pedal to the floor in an all out sprint to the finish in hopes of coming out at the top when faced with any competition.
It comes as no surprise then, to see our sales team currently consumed by a relentless effort to ‘out fitness’ each other after we started an ASF MYZONE group at the beginning of May.
MYZONE, a new innovative heart rate based system that uses wireless and cloud technology to accurately and conveniently monitor physical activity, monitors heart rate, calories and time exercising that converts into MYZONE Effort Points (MEPs), with a focus on rewarding effort rather than fitness.
MEPs are awarded for every minute spent exercising in different personal intensity zones calculated by a person’s ‘resting’ and ‘maximum’ heart rates. The more effort, the more MEPs! (see chart below) Through the social connectivity of the MYZONE app, every connected member of a MYZONE group (like our ASF Sales Group) is able to track and compare their workouts (and MEPs) to their teammates, leading to a very fun and VERY motivating competition.
The feedback is also instantaneous when MYZONE is used in a club setting. With just a screen, a MYZONE receiver, and an Internet connection, fitness facility managers can project real time stats of their MYZONE users up on a screen or TV. So when a member walks into the room with their MYZONE belt on, their heart rate is automatically recognized and projected to the front of the room. This not only allows members to compete against each other by raising their intensity but also allows trainers to make sure their clients are constantly pushing themselves for better results!
With effort points resetting at the beginning of each month, the ASF Team is rounding the final turn on what has been a hard fought May of MEP battles, including an array of different members jostling for a Top 5 position. Looking back at our last month’s battlefield, it’s easy to see that the workouts have gotten longer and more tedious as the finish line has neared, serving as proof that MYZONE is a powerful motivational fitness tool. It has also confirmed, once again, that no matter the contest, adding just a pinch of competition fuels our sales team’s drive and continues to help us get better together.
